Being labeled Sporty Spice was both a blessing and a curse for Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm (Mel C). The 37-year-old singer explains how being in the spotlight caused her to become both depressed and bulimic. “Being in the Spice Girls was amazing, but also very tough,” Chisholm admits. “I was young and impressionable, and I found it hard to read about myself.” She says that the tabloids were cruel about her appearance, and often referred to her appearance as “gobby” and “masculine,” which caused the public to question her sexuality. The singer, who welcomed daughter Scarlet in February 2009, identifies as straight. She has been dating property developer Thomas Starr since 2002. Though Chisholm recently released her fifth solo album, she hinted the Spice Girls may reunite to perform at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Steve Jobs, the wizard behind Apple who put the Mac, iPod, iPhone and iPad into the hands of millions of religiously devoted consumers around the globe, died Wednesday. He was 56 and had battled pancreatic cancer since 2004. “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being,” the company said in a statement. “Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.” In a separate statement, his family said, “Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family. … In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve’s illness.”

The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor.  I will miss Steve immensely.

Larry Page, Google Co-Founder: “I am very, very sad to hear the news about Steve. He was a great man with incredible achievements and amazing brilliance. His focus on the user experience above all else has always been an inspiration to me. PRESIDENT OBAMA EXPRESSES HIS CONDOLENCES IN STEVE JOBS DEATH

Michelle and I are saddened to learn of the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was among the greatest of American innovators – brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.

By building one of the planet’s most successful companies from his garage, he exemplified the spirit of American ingenuity.  By making computers personal and putting the internet in our pockets, he made the information revolution not only accessible, but intuitive and fun.  And by turning his talents to storytelling, he has brought joy to millions of children and grownups alike. Steve was fond of saying that he lived every day like it was his last.  Because he did, he transformed our lives, redefined entire industries, and achieved one of the rarest feats in human history: he changed the way each of us sees the world.

The world has lost a visionary. And there may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to Steve’s wife Laurene, his family, and all those who loved him.

Prince, Paris, and Blanket Jackson have decided not to watch the Conrad Murray trial. Sources directly connected to the kids say the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial is just too painful to relive — especially for Prince and Paris, who witnessed the demise of their dad firsthand. Katherine is relieved the kids don’t have the kind of curiosity that would drive them to the screen, especially after prosecutor David Walgren displayed the body of Michael Jackson in the first graphic during opening statements. Katherine was unhappy and disturbed the shocking photo was displayed at all. It’s unclear — and unlikely — the kids will be called as witnesses, but as previously reported, Prince is willing to take the stand.

MJ’S CHEF TESTIFIES IN DR.CONRAD MURRAY TRIAL

Source: TMZ.com

Michael Jackson’s personal chef Kai Chase testified Thursday, claiming that a frantic Dr. Conrad Murray begged her for help the day MJ died, ten minutes before anyone called 911. According to Chase, she was in the kitchen preparing lunch for Michael and his kids — and between 12:05 and 12:10PM, Murray ran downstairs, yelling for her to “get Prince, get help, get security.” Chase claimed she sent Prince to Dr. Murray and returned to work. Chase admitted she didn’t contact security — a point highlighted by the defense. MJ’s personal assistant, Michael Amir Williams also testified that Murray called him at 12:13pm, and Williams immediately phoned security. MJ’s security guard then called 911 at 12:21 — between 11 and 16 minutes after Murray allegedly asked Chase for help.

Leal, 23, allegedly hooked up with Ashton at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego and has gone into hiding since news of her indiscretions with Ashton broke. Sara cooperated and deleted all of her accounts early this week.

She’s also in cahoots with a paparazzo who plans to sell staged new “street” pictures of Leal. “She gets a cut of whatever the photos sell for,” a source said. We revealed Leal has also asked for a six-figure payday from Kutcher to stay quiet about their alleged liaison in San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel last weekend. MICHAEL JACKSON’S BODYGUARD TAKES THE STAND

by tleonard1
Source: People.com

Michael Jackson’s bodyguard, Faheem Muhammad, testified Wednesday in the Conrad Murray involuntary manslaughter trial, saying that he entered the star’s bedroom minutes after his death and saw Jackson’s two oldest children watching in horror. “Paris was on the ground, balled up and crying,” Muhammad testified, adding that “Prince had a really shocked, just slowly crying kind of look.” He said that Jackson lay sprawled diagonally across his bed, his eyes open and his mouth slightly open, as Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray frantically tried to revive him. “He appeared to be administering CPR,” Muhammad testified. “He appeared very nervous. He was sweaty.” Muhammad also testified he had the nanny take the children away so they wouldn’t see the paramedics carry Jackson out. Then he called security at UCLA’s hospital to warn that paparazzi were already in the trees outside the house and would likely try to sneak in to Jackson’s hospital room.
